New York bassist Reggie Washington, who has performed on stage with Roy Hargrove, Steve Coleman, Cassandra Wilson, Archie Shepp, The Headhunters, Meshell Ndegéocello and Branford Marsalis, has formed a new band called MUSIC OF THE PHRASE.
With the help of DJ Grazzhoppa on the turntables, Fabrice Alleman on saxophone, Igor Gehenot on keyboards and Patrick Dorcéan on drums, Reggie fuses different styles of music. From jazz to classical via blues, funk and hip-hop, he presents his new compositions but also arrangements of Beethoven, Monk, Bill Evans, Wayne Shorter and Lenny White.
Between Reggie's melodious bass lines, supported by Patrick's robust and sincere drums, DJ Grazzhoppa incorporates the right phrases at the right time. Igor plays with delicacy and brings freshness while Fabrice's saxophone sails with the rhythmic and improvises solos intoxicated with emotion.
MUSIC OF THE PHRASE is a unique and powerful sound carried by generous and enthusiastic musicians. Their music speaks of love, freedom, humour and wisdom.

TELE-PORT is a brand new project composed of great Luxembourgish jazz voices (namely bassist Pol Belardi, keyboardist Jérôme Klein and drummer Jeff Herr) who join forces with the adventurous Russian saxophonist Zhenya Strigalev, who has also been a mainstay of the London jazz scene for the past decade. The concept of the original music they play can be defined as a distillation of carefully chosen ingredients from the heart of Europe (with its romance, wisdom and patience), the United States (with its jazz history), and Eastern influences (with its own rich traditions).
The result is an exciting and modern take on jazz. One might think of a sonic creature with a European head, American feet and a plane ticket in hand to embark on a quest for a body in constant metamorphosis. The compositions inevitably unfold in different directions, teleporting the listener to a multitude of different places, as each member of the band is also a skilled composer who embraces and adds his or her personal experience.
