For this farewell tour, the group was able to recruit none other than jazz singer Valérie Graschaire for their latest project. Valérie Graschaire enjoys an excellent reputation in the Grand Est, as she regularly performs with renowned jazz musicians such as Stéphane Belmondo, Pierre-Alain Goulach and many others in jazz clubs at home and abroad.
IGUANA will play two sets, the first without Valérie with many of her own compositions and the second with Valérie. The repertoire with Valérie consists exclusively of cover versions of big names in jazz such as Al Jarreau, Diane Schuur, Patti Austin and Maurane.
If we go back to the origins of the group, the year 1997 represents the creation of the group, 1999 the first album (Mysterious Planet) and the famous live concert at the Atelier (Luxembourg). In 2021, bassist Félix Schaber reactivates IGUANA with J.J. Wathgen on guitar, Gilles Wagner on drums, Luca Sales on keyboards and Julien Petit on saxophone.
No other Luxembourgish group has embodied FUSION in its own unique and unmistakable way for years. The latest album ‘IGUANA 2.0’ can be heard on all audio streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, etc.
