In recent years, Josh Island has toured Europe, released two EPs and opened for Passenger and James Morrison. The singer-songwriter will present his debut album “In My Head” this autumn and celebrate its release with an impressive stage show at opderschmelz.

Josh Island writes catchy pop songs with strong soul and folk influences, inspired by Sting, John Mayer or Jamie Cullum. With genre-spanning tracks like the rousing ballad “Pennies from Heaven”, his shuffle-groove number “Make It” or the rock anthem “Rewind”, he leaves his musical complexity in no doubt. On stage, he is an accessible live performer and quite naturally breaks through the invisible barrier between artist and audience. His debut album “In My Head”, to be released on 15 September, was recorded with producer Nelson Canoa in the wine region of Torres Vedras in Portugal in 2022. For the concert in Dudelange, Josh Island will be accompanied by a seven-piece band to do justice to the fantastic arrangements of new songs and classics alike.

We are looking forward to a band with groove, an entertaining storyteller and a multitude of catchy tunes that won’t let us go anytime soon.
