Reto Weber is one of the most internationally renowned Swiss musicians in the field of jazz and world music. He will perform with his Squeezeband at the opderschmelz cultural centre and present his new book.
Reto Weber’s artistic spectrum includes cross-disciplinary music productions from beat box to elite jazz. He is the founder and bandleader of various multicultural bands such as Percussion Orchestra, Swissmad and Reto Weber's Squeezeband, which was founded in 2004 and is finally back in Dudelange after more than 10 years. The current line-up is composed of Chico Freeman on saxophone, beatboxer Nino G, Josefina Nagorsnik on trombone, Dominique Muzeau on bass and Reto Weber as percussionist. On Weber's 70th birthday, his book "DRUMMIN' - Am Anfang war die Trommel - Erinnerungen" will be published in 2023. From a boy who refused to play the violin to an internationally celebrated jazz musician. The book covers the entire musical oeuvre with all tours including valuable anecdotes from and with renowned jazz artists.
