Jazz meets multi media
With ‘Synaesthesia’, multimedia artist Émile V. Schlesser and the jazz trio Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen have developed a unique immersive jazz event: a walk-in room, 360-degree projection and the pianist Michel Reis, double bass player Marc Demuth and drummer Paul Wiltgen as holograms. A genuine live experience that traces the synaesthesia phenomenon, presented and supported by Esch2022 in a co-production with opderschmelz cultural centre.
With ‘Synaesthesia’, multimedia artist Émile V. Schlesser and jazz trio Reis-Demuth- Wiltgen have developed a unique immersive jazz event: A walk-in installation featuring holographic 360-degree video projection invites the audience to dive into a dreamlike world. By translating music into colour, shape and movement, the four artists perform a crossover between multiple art forms.
Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen’s specially conceived jazz compositions merge with the generative visual worlds of multimedia artist Schlesser. Audio and video influence each other in real time, thus forming a multisensory symbiosis.
A genuine live experience inspired by the neurological phenomenon of synaesthesia, presented and financed by Esch2022 in a co-production with opderschmelz cultural centre.
