Michel Pilz s'est dès le début consacré à l'exploration de toutes les facettes de la clarinette basse qu'il maîtrise à la perfection. Il participe régulièrement à diverses expériences musicales avec des artistes locaux, notamment au Luxembourg. En concert, Michel Pilz domine la scène avec sa technique infaillible, ses cascades de notes déferlantes et des phrases insolites. Le tromboniste allemand Christof Thewes est une personnalité du jazz allemand, réputé pour ses nombreuses collaborations et ses incursions expérimentales dans le rock et le funk. Il joue un jeu plein en contrastes dans un échange intensif et jouissif avec ses partenaires. Le bassiste Jan Oestreich a fait ses études au conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, avant de faire une belle carrière dans le jazz l’ayant amené à des tournées de haut niveau e.a. avec Ted Curson ou Archie Shepp. Le batteur et percussionniste américain Peter Perfido s’est produit avec de nombreux artistes dont e.a. Anthony Braxton, Art Lande et Chet Baker. Ses interventions aventureuses invitent à une déambulation tantôt saccadée, tantôt fluide et quasi hypnotique. *** Considered early on as a successor to the great Eric Dolphy, Michel Pilz has dedicated his career exclusively to the mastery of the bass clarinet. German trombone player Christof Thewes is one of the secret stars in the field of improvised and contemporary music.
